Funfair’s Charity Target

Organisers of a funfair in Newton Aycliffe are looking for a local charity to support. Carnival Funfairs will be making its fourth visit to the town next month, staying in the Iron Horse pub car park.
Last year, the fair ran a family fun weekend that included a raffle of £100 worth of ride tickets. It proved such a success that showmen want to repeat it. Money raised last year went to help a young mother from Newton Aycliffe who received specialist treatment in the US.

Sun and fun make village’s millennium extravaganza

The sun shone on a charity’s millennium extravaganza, held in a village on the outskirts of Darlington at the weekend. The event was organised by Help The Aged.
People flocked from all over the area to take steam train rides, enter a children’s pet show and have a go on a bouncy
castle. Other activities included fancy dress, a fun fair, a car boot sale and a Punch and Judy show.
Proceeds from the event will go towards helpin
g elderly people in the area.
